ترازوی هوشمند طیور جهت اندازه­ گیری وزن طیور بصورت خودکار و بدون نیاز به دخالت انسان بکار می­ رود. حداقل یک دستگاه در یک سالن مرغداری مورد نیاز است . مبنای اندازه­ گیری وزن جوجه ­ها (یا مرغ و خروس در مرغداری های مادر) وارد نمودن وزن اولیه آن­هاست . وارد کردن وزن اولیه یک مرتبه و در هنگام جوجه ریزی (یا وسط دوره) در حافظه دستگاه وارد کرده، سپس، بطور خودکار اندازه­ گیری انجام، و وزن طیور در حافظه دستگاه ثبت می­ شود. با افزایش روزانه وزن گله، ترازو بطور هوشمند   مبنای اندازه گیری را تغییر می­ دهد طوری که  احتیاجی به وارد نمودن وزن متوسط  گله در کل طول دوره پرورش نیست.یکی از ویژگی­ های متمایز این ترازو  این است که با  بالا رفتن همزمان دو یا چند پرنده، یا ریختن کود مرغی به رروی کفه و یا تکیه دادن پرندگان به کفه دچار اشتباه یا خطای اندازه گیری نمی شود و قابل تشخیص برای ترازو خواهد بود. حافظه دستگاه (MMC) قابل جدا شدن بوده و اطلاعات آن براحتی در کامپیوتر قابل نمایش و گزارش گیری می باشد. این دستگاه در انواع مرغداری های گوشتی و مادر قابل استفاده است
